Set in a future world of endless winter where humanity seems to have been left behind, WINTERTIDE is an almost Cronenbergian study of sex and a mysterious disease that slowly turns people who suffer from collective depression into zombies. In an isolated northern city, a plague of depression is raging, transforming its victims into zombie-like automatons, when a woman discovers the key to immunity may lie within her dreams. It’s chilly in the north, and in this movie; the better to sneak up on you quietly, like an unexpected shiver.
