About the Key Creatives:

Jack Bailey - Director

Jack Bailey is a 21 year old Canadian filmmaker. He has trekked all the way from Guelph Ontario to study film production at UBC. He got the film-making bug at age 12, making videos for his middle school announcements.

Isabella Jaramillo - Producer

Isabella is an emerging filmmaker from Colombia, currently in her third year in the Film Production program at the University of British Columbia. She is interested in creating sci-fi and horror films that explore surreal and thought-provoking topics. She has written and directed several short films throughout the past 6 years, from experimental films made with minimal cast and crew to documentaries exploring the supernatural, and uncovering unexpected stories in her hometown, Cali. Isabella wants to pursue different avenues of filmmaking where she can use different approaches to the craft to highlight the stories and emotional and intellectual impact of her films.

Lesha Jay Vescio - Producer

Lesha Vescio is a third year Film Production student at The University of British Columbia. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Lesha came to Vancouver at 20 years of age to pursue an education in the entertainment industry. She has worked in the past as a model, actor, and bartender, now wanting to focus more on making things happen behind the camera. She prefers to write and create stories of science fiction, horror, or fantasy. Despite struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic, she has successfully worked on every third year film in 2021, with roles including MUA, camera assistant, actor, and sound. Lesha's favourite roles have been directing, co-producing, and 1st ADing, and she is excited to come out of her comfort zone and work on more films in the coming year. Planning to graduate in 2022, Lesha will become the first person of her family to receive a university degree.

Austin Kwok - Cinematographer

An emerging Vancouver-based Director of Photography from Beijing, Austin Kwok, uses his global outlook to shape his visual language. Austin is in his third year of the Film Production Program degree at the University of British Columbia. Through his time at UBC, he has learned to combine his deep passion for storytelling with his strong understanding and appreciation of painting to create impactful images. From commercial work to narrative filmmaking, Austin has experience in various areas within the filmmaking world. Constantly challenging himself, every project is a new chance for growth and learning as he flourishes in collaboration with other passionate creatives.
