The Syrian Civil War has caused the largest human displacement since WWII. This film is a tribute to ten young artists from Syria who left that ravaged country “to free their voices.” Filmed with creativity and sensitivity, it explores the horrors of the failed revolution, the high hopes, the devastating backlash and the desperate decision each artist made to leave home and family. We follow a Syrian rapper, a post-rock musician, a breakdancer, and visual artists as they tell us their stories of revolution and exile. It explores the effects of displacement and loss on their creative souls. Most astonishing is the resilience, the sophistication and the pride they carry with them into their new lives. Equally devastating and humbling, this may be the only good story to come out of Syria in the past ten years.
