Will she become the tough Mohawk warrior she needs to be during the protests? Director Tracey Deer uses her background as a documentary filmmaker to good effect in editing together news footage of the Oka protests that tore Quebec and Canada apart in 1990. The “ordinary” violence in this film is chilling when witnessed from the point of view of children.
