The characters in this film chase many things – a “super-cell” drought-ending rainstorm, the feeling of being “normal” within a town and a family – and oh yes – gas for the ice cream truck. In a small southern town, Sam tries to hold everything together and create a better life for her brother Carl, who is on the autism spectrum. Carl’s fascination with the weather leads them on an adventure that includes their crazy friend Louis and their uptight sister Lillian. Their plan to go storm-chasing while Mom and Dad are in jail just might pull the whole crazy mess back together.
