In recognition of September being Suicide Prevention Month, PTFF invites all of our neighbors to a FREE SCREENING of this important film. All donations made through this screening will go to The Benji Project, encouraging mindfulness for teens. Here is a powerful short film by The Benji Project sharing the experiences of Jefferson County young people during the pandemic. Produced in collaboration with Plumb Productions, the film reveals the frustrations and resilience of local teens. https://www.thebenjiproject.org/resources

Included in this screening is a conversation with PTFF Executive Director, Janette Force, Cynthia Osterman, founder of the Benji Project, and film director, Lisa Klein.

PTFF Pics is a monthly program put on by the Port Townsend Film Festival. Thank you for supporting the arts and independent film.

"Speaking the word suicide is not the problem, it’s the silence that so often surrounds it.” Words of insight from the eyeopening film THE S WORD. Suicide-attempt survivor, Dese’Rae Stage, is on a mission to find fellow survivors and document their stories of unguarded courage, insight and humor. Along the way, she discovers a community willing to transform personal struggles into action on a national level in the hope that those intimate stories will help prevent further tragedy.

THE S WORD screened at the 2017 Port Townsend Film Festival and we are delighted to be offering this encore screening at no cost.
