This screening is part of our End of Year Fundraising efforts to raise money for our first 6 months of expenses in 2025.
Our goal is to raise $27K by Dec 31st, to cover our labor and programming costs in the new year, which up until now have been done without any funding.
We're offering a $20 Non-Member ticket so folks can get a look at what Queer Gaze ONLINE has to offer while supporting the hard work we put into our programming and its future.
P.S. Burn This Letter Please is a phenomenal film about our community's history that we know will touch your heart as deeply as it has touched us. The filmmakers believe in the work we do to celebrate and support Queer filmmakers through Flip the Script Fest, and have generously granted us the right to screen this film for fundraising efforts.
If you are interested in becoming an Annual or Monthly Member to help create financial stability for our organization's future you can learn more on our Become A Member page.
A box found in an abandoned storage unit unearths a time capsule of correspondences from a forgotten era: the underground drag scene in 1950s New York City. Firsthand accounts and newly discovered footage help cast a long overdue spotlight on the unsung pioneers of drag.
Opening a window into a forgotten world where being yourself meant breaking the law and where the penalties for “masquerading” as a woman were swift and severe. P.S. BURN THIS LETTER PLEASE reconstructs this pre-Stonewall era as Lennie, Robbie, George, Michael, Jim, Henry, Claude, Tish and Terry—former drag queens now in their 80s and 90s—reveal how they survived and somehow flourished at a time when drag queens were both revered and reviled, even within the gay community.
The government sought to destroy them, then history tried to erase them, now they get to tell their story for the first time.
Content Advisory: homophobia, military policies against homosexuality, police treatment towards 2SLGBTQIA+ people, body shaming, transphobia, mental institutions, electroshock therapy, mentions of child abuse, HIV/AIDS, death
