If you had the opportunity to feel more in control of your life, would you take it? Colorado Art Therapy Association board member Arielle Rothenberg, MPS, wants you to join How to Be Within Me, a workshop open to all interested in learning everyday tools for staying curious and tuning in. By focusing on creativity, mindfulness and an experiential intersection of the two, Arielle draws from our innate ability to imagine to encourage self-awareness and growth.

Arielle Rothenberg: Arielle earned her Master of Professional Studies in Art Therapy from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. A visual storyteller, she has worked as an art therapist, graphic recorder and facilitator to support her clients (both domestic and abroad) as they navigate triumphs and challenges. Her work largely focuses on creative mindfulness to empower her clients in growth. Arielle has co-curated art shows both in NYC and Auroville, India, and currently serves as Art Show Chair on the board of the Colorado Art Therapy Association. In service of advocacy and community engagement, Arielle is passionate about staying curious and using the creative process to strengthen ourselves and our connection to others.

Maria Droste Counseling Center in Denver is the collaboration of a non-profit organization and a group of independent practitioners in The Therapist Group, both with a passion for serving others. Building upon this power of community, the Maria Droste Board and MDCC Young Professionals Board support our organization’s growth with expertise, insight and creativity. Together, we provide access to mental health care for underserved populations and offer a training institute for psychotherapists.

Maria Droste’s unique model allows us to serve many parts of our community including children and adolescents, older adults, survivors of domestic violence and more. Utilizing a collaborative model, we are training new therapists through clinical experience at our various community sites, which allows us to have low cost services for Coloradans who need it most.

Our Mission:

Maria Droste Counseling Center has been formed out of the understanding that people need access to counseling regardless of their ability to pay. Our goal is to create a community mental health center where all Coloradans feel welcome and safe.

We are committed to serving others with enthusiasm, empathy and humility as we assist in creating a place of peace, love and harmony within others, ourselves and our community. We embrace and honor diversity in all its forms.
