This Christmas-themed bloodbath about a trans true-crime podcaster tracking down a real-life murderer, is helmed by young phenom filmmaker Alice Maio Mackay. When podcast host Lola returns to her hometown to revisit a tragic past that fueled her interest in true crime, concerns about the town's conservative views soon take a back seat to something much more sinister as Lola enlists her band of queer renegades to take on the threat. In her fifth feature, 20-year-old Mackay continues to evoke shades of John Waters and Gregg Araki in her colorful, wild films that exude the essence of queer punk.
