“You are handsome.” Sometimes, it’s easiest being honest with a stranger.

Colm (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor) is a middle-aged, roughhewn dock worker with a loving family, a beautiful home and a good job. But after the death of his destructive father his life begins unraveling. He’s drinking too much and repeating his dad’s mistakes with his own teenagers. Now he’s in danger of losing his job. A men’s room pickup complicates things further when Jay (Tom Glynn-Carney), a much younger hustler, tries to blackmail him over their encounter.

In what could have been an off-told tale, the two leads deliver realistic portrayals: both fathers, perhaps bisexual, two lost men more complex than they first appear. In a life of lies, where being with a stranger provides the only place for honesty, Rialto packs an emotional punch
