An autobiographical dark comedy about a gay boy growing up in the Soviet Union, his mail-order bride mother and their adventurous escape to America. Based on a true story, the film follows the young, queer Potato and his mother and the surprising adventures they have in their new land. Written and directed by award winning filmmaker Wes Hurley, and loosely based on his life. “The film is a darkly comic ode to mothers, immigrants and dreamers everywhere.”
