About the workshop:

This workshop was for anyone interested in dealing with pandemic grief creatively and in community. The workshop was held by Kit Blamire, who recently made Flare, a short film about being sick that was made by working with what was within reach and saw filmmaking as a way to process and transform an experience. We explored how we can work with limitations and every day tools to process and express ourselves. Beginning the workshop by sharing some of our experiences of pandemic grief within this temporary creative community, we then collected ideas about how these experiences can be expressed through moving image, sound, words and photos, in poetic and associative ways. Guided by Kit, we went on to separately create a collection of footage that expresses in some small way a part of our experiences of the last four years living through the ongoing pandemic. Kit then knitted this together after the workshop and we ended up with a short DIY film made collectively and edited by Kit.
