Njedeh Anthony is a Nigerian-American filmmaker, writer, and producer whose work fuses imaginative storytelling, cultural memory, suspense, and emotional depth into striking cinematic experiences. He is the founder of The Gestalt Effect, his creative banner under which he develops films that explore identity, family, and the unseen forces that shape human lives.

His filmmaking journey began with Creatures of Necessity (writer, producer), a tense crime thriller that introduced his voice as a storyteller attuned to psychological complexity and raw human conflict. He followed with Exceptional Beings (writer, director, producer), a metaphysical exploration of gods walking among humans, which showcased his ambition to merge philosophy, fantasy, and contemporary drama. His work is defined by layered characters, bold visual aesthetics, and stories that resonate across cultures.

Cinema, to me, has always been about uncovering the unseen — the emotions we bury, the histories we inherit, and the choices that define who we become. I make films to explore those moments where identity, love, and destiny collide, often under the weight of forces larger than ourselves. And to do it, in ways that haven’t been seen before.

With Yellow Broken Road, I wanted to create an original story that feels both intimate and universal, a romance-suspense that carries within it the echoes of memory, culture, and fate. The film is about love not as an easy comfort, but as a fragile thread stretched across loss, choice, and consequence. It is about two souls navigating a world where the past and the supernatural press against the present, shaping their every decision.

I am drawn to stories that blur borders, the spiritual and the tangible, the personal and the mythic. My approach to filmmaking is to layer emotion with atmosphere, to let silence speak as loudly as words, and to invite audiences into spaces that feel both familiar and unsettling.
