Introduction to J'Accuse by the Director, Michael Kretzmer

The global success of the documentary J’Accuse! is nothing short of staggering. Since its award-winning premiere at the prestigious Jewish International Film Festival in Australia nine months ago this blistering, controversial $30,000 documentary (made in an attic on a $1000 Mac) on the scandal of Holocaust distortion in Lithuania has filled cinemas and won over 120 Best Documentary Awards and film festival selections across the world.

More importantly it has started to recalibrate the dialogue between the Jewish People and Lithuania by demanding that the Lithuanian government stops telling Holocaust lies.

And already it is creating political waves.

The film has achieved all this with absolutely no marketing or PR. Literally, nothing other than a few posts on Facebook. Made on a shoestring budget of less than $30,000 this painful, angry film has reached the entire world and become one of the key weapons in the current fight for Holocaust Truth.

And it did so because of the extraordinary energy of the expat South African Jewish community, the vast majority of whom were of Litvak stock. After three generations, this community, now dispersed throughout the world, was ready to return to the slaughter. By giving a voice, at last, to their murdered families the film has articulated a demand from Jewish people across the world that the Lithuanian government stops making up lies in order to honour known mass murderers.

Murderers like Jonas Noreika, who humiliated, robbed, tortured and murdered as many as 14,500 Jews in Northern Lithuania.

In J’Accuse! it is Noreika’s own heroic granddaughter who forensically exposes his crimes. Her name is Silvia Foti, and in telling the truth about her grandfather this astonishing Chicago high school teacher and author has lost everything - her family, her community, her People and her country. In J’Accuse! she exposes both the antisemitism at the very highest levels of the Lithuanian governmen and the contemptuous lies of its Orwellian Genocide Centre. Her devotion to the truth is matched by the other protagonist in the film, the heroic Jewish South African campaigner Grant Gochin, whose own family was murdered by Noreika.
