On Thanksgiving day in 1970, off the coast of Martha's Vineyard, Simas Kudirka, a Lithuanian sailor, jumps from his Soviet vessel onto a US Coast Guard Cutter, asking for asylum. His leap for freedom sets off a chaotic series of events during the Cold War. Dive into this surreal journey that becomes an international inspiration for people, pictures, and politics, reaching all the way to the White House.
