Presented in association with North and South London Cuba Solidarity Campaign: “Tarea Vida” a documentary on Cuba's policies and actions for climate change. Shown in Glasgow During COP26 with Q&A with one of the co-producers: Helen Yaffe.
North and South London Cuba Solidarity Campaign is delighted to be collaborating once again with Sands Film Studios to show the 2021 documentary: “Tarea Vida”.
Tarea Vida or Life Task, is a film about Cuba's unique plan for climate change adaptation and mitigation. Being an island, Cuba is at the forefront of the effects of climate change, while being a minimal contributor to the causes owing to its low carbon footprint. The recent effects of Hurricane Ian on the island with small loss of life, but huge devastation on infrastructure and agriculture illustrate the need for this far-reaching programme.
We will be joined online for a Q&A by Dr Helen Yaffe who co-produced the film and whose researches on Cuba cover a wide range of topics about the island nation, some of which are included in her books: Che Guevara: the Economics of Revolution & We are Cuba.
