Budrus

Budrus tells the story, some 15 years ago, of Palestinian protests that forced the Israeli government to reconfigure a good deal of the separation wall so that it did not pass through Palestinian territory. And even though a slick on-camera Israeli military spokesman tries to make it appear that the decision was purely political in nature, Julia Bacha’s film makes it clear what happened: humble people united by a cause and using smart tactics compelled a militarized force to back down. Gandhi, Cèsar Chàvez and Martin Luther King Jr. would have been proud.

We continue fundraising for MAP.

Budrus

Follows a Palestinian leader who unites Fatah, Hamas and Israelis in an unarmed movement to save his village from destruction. Success eludes them until his 15-year-old daughter jumps into the fray.
