1956: FREE CINEMA IN USA
70 years ago, the Free Cinema manifesto was written to introduce a series of short films at the London’s National Film Theatre in February 1956. It was clear that the Free Cinema movement, although established to promote films “nobody would screen”, had touched on something essential.
On the second evening the series presented ON THE BOWERY from Lionel Rogosin from New York.
