Friends Daniel Swani, Timothy Kraemer and Jack Gonzalez-Harding come together for an exploration of Johann Sebastian Bach’s flute and obligato/continuo writing.

Daniel Swani

Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 2021, Daniel has embarked upon a varied career in music, owing to his versatility as a multi-flute player. Highlights have included performing in the West End show ‘A Christmas Carol’, recording the music for ‘Upstart Crow’ starring David Mitchell, performing alongside Damon Albarn for BBC’s ‘Later with Jools Holland’, working as a soloist with the BBC Concert Orchestra and recording for Netflix, Apple TV and BBC TV.

As an orchestral player, Daniel has recently been invited to play with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and Britten Sinfonia (including as principal recorder), as well as being an extra player for the Royal Ballet Sinfonia. Equally at home with musical theatre, he is currently a flute deputy on the Les Misérables UK and Ireland Tour 2022.

Timothy Kraemer

Timothy Kraemer is a cellist by profession although he had no formal training as a musician. He studied fine art, photography and graphic design. His eclectic interests led him to all kinds of music, including jazz and rock. Timothy specialised on the baroque cello for over 20 years performing and recording with many groups including The English Concert and The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Timothy has received commissions from both these orchestras to compose for their educational projects. In the 70s he played cello in a prog rock band called “Esperanto” . He has also recorded with the legendary band ‘Yes’. Timothy loves writing string arrangements, and writes regularly for Buskaid, a group of talented musicians from the Soweto township. Timothy has had many pieces published for the ABRSM, Faber and Schotts. He has also written several children’s operas for the West Eleven Children’s Opera Group.

Jack Gonzalez-Harding

Praised for his ‘infectious enthusiasm’ (The Spectator), Jack Gonzalez-Harding begins his tenure as Principal Conductor of the Southeastern Orchestral Society in October 2022.

Recent highlights have included debuts at the Southbank Centre, Wigmore hall, and St John’s Smith Square as well as performances with acclaimed artists such as Roderick Williams, Nicholas Daniel, Mary Bevan, Fenella Humphreys and the London Mozart Players.

Jack studied at the Royal Academy of Music as a junior exhibitioner and at the Purcell School where he studied the harpsichord with the jazz/improvisation/baroque practitioner David Gordon. He was inspired to turn to conducting upon meeting Sir Simon Rattle as a young teenager. Currently, he is a mentee of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
