Professor Ginette Vincendeau introduces cult film La Haine and its influence on global cinema after 26 years from its release.


Ginette Vincendeau is Professor of Film Studies at King’s College London. She has written widely on popular French cinema and is co-Chief General Editor (with Mary Harrod) of French Screen Studies. Among her books are Pépé le Moko (1998), Stars and Stardom in French Cinema (2000), Jean-Pierre Melville: An American in Paris (2003), La Haine (2005), Brigitte Bardot (2013). She is currently completing a new expanded version of The French New Wave, Critical Landmarks and a monograph on Claude Autant-Lara.
