During a tumultuous time in herstory, this short documentary addresses the ways in which Dezi Rae Kai, a young woman of color, raised by a white family in a mostly white town has experienced racism. The short focuses on how Dezi's anger over the racist, police murder of George Floyd that sparked nationwide civil rights protests helped her find her voice and confidence. Inspired by his experience as a conscientious objector of the Vietnam War, and the friends he lost, Sebastopol resident Michael Gillotti reflects on the events that led to founding the Sebastopol Living Peace Wall. In its annual dedication ceremony, the Living Peace Wall is inscribed with the names of living peacemakers in Sebastopol and the surrounding community. It serves to honor their work in the world, and to inspire others to stand for peace and harmony.
