Unfateful is a SF3 2020 Best Feature Film Official Selection.

Four strangers embark on a carpooling journey to Gokarna. As their belief system and moral compass is put to test, the otherwise simple road trip becomes the most unfateful journey of their lives.

Unfateful is an independent English-Kannada feature film written, directed and produced by Seby Varghese. Starring a fresh new cast and an all new crew, the micro budget road film was shot completely anamorphic with an iPhone 7 Plus on a minimalist approach.The film designed to be made completely Guerrilla Style across three states of South India - Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, filming in some rare and unseen landscapes of our country. The team also followed a scriptless approach in the making of the film for a realistic docu-fiction narrative style. The film was partially funded through a crowdfunding campaign run on Wishberry.in. For each member of the team, the making was an ultimate test of their passion and commitment to cinema as the team faced diseases, life threatening accidents and financial problems. Our only hope to push further was our undeterred passion for Cinema. Starting in August 2017 with a 15 member team, the film was completed in March 2020 right before the COVID lockdown.

Director Biography - Seby Varghese

Seby Varghese is an independent film maker from Bangalore, India. A post graduate in commerce, he quit his job to pursue his passion for cinema. After an internship at Nirvana Films, Bangalore, and after having experimented with zero budget short films, he ventured into writing, producing and directing his first feature film titled Unfateful - a micro budget road film shot on iPhone 7 Plus.
