Highlights include the award-winning short Tap Boy (UK, 2021), where a vulnerable teenager finds escape from a violent gang by practicing tap dance. The darkly humorous An Evening With Taglioni (UK, 2021), by SFDFF regular contributors Jessica Wright and Morgann Runacre-Temple (Jess and Morgs) is their latest film commissioned by English National Ballet and is based on a true story from when legendary ballerina Marie Taglioni, the first woman to go ‘en pointe’, retired. Her pointe shoes were bought by a fan… Then cooked at a lavish dinner party and served to 35 guests.

Trapped within the territory of a drug gang, a vulnerable teenager finds an escape through tap dance. Set in the concrete jungle of Milton Keynes, his dance dreams start to compromise his gangland responsibilities, forcing him to make a terrible choice that will seal his fate forever.
