Highlights of this mixed screendance program include Ukrainian filmmaker Diana Olifirova’s rhythmically edited film shot partially in Ukraine, Intrance (UK, 2022). And SFDFF’s award-winning UK duo Baye and Asa return with a new film, Suck it Up (UK, 2022), confronting “the violent fallout of male insecurity and entitlement” in their typical theatrical fashion. Films from Egypt, Slovenia, Italy, Norway, and China take us further around the world as diverse examples of our 2022 submissions from fifty countries.

From Ukraine to the UK and back, on the precipice of infinite possibilities, and spiraling through spaces that redefine my identity, culture, memories and future. INTRANCE is a self-portrait exploring fear, resistance, bravery and change.
