A tragic incident on Greece’s northern border strikes a local family of three, pushing them to face their own personal impasses, while having to deeply consider the price for their actions. This social-family drama takes place in 2015, in a border village where hundreds of migrants gather every day with the goal to illegally cross the border into Northern Europe. The film was nominated in 17 categories in the 14th edition of the Hellenic Film Academy Awards, and won the Best Film Award along with nine other accolades. It was selected as the Greek entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.

Behind the Haystacks (Πίσω από τις Θημωνιές)

Abdallah, an Arab Muslim civil engineer married to Irene, a Greek Cypriot woman, has to come to terms with his own responsibility in the collapse of a building in an Arab refugee settlement, which causes the death of 7 people. Having been radicalised, Iman and Leila, two young Europeans of Arab origin, are sent to Cyprus, with a secret mission. Michelle, a lonely 17-year old girl, child of a broken family, falls for Angelos, a handsome, domineering young man. Three stories, each involving characters whose actions may mean the difference between life and death, are defined by their search for redemption from their past, their guilt, their loneliness.

On a steamy summer night at the Greek seaside, full of music, dancing and taverna food, a sudden mist descends and strange creatures plague the city, attacking people and drawing others into the sea with strange dreams. A group of musicians join forces with a lost sailor in search of his wayward Greek father, along with a waitress, a bodybuilder, their granny, some local criminals, and an undead priest - banding together to fight back against the otherworldly invaders. Billed as “the new Greek monster movie,” MINORE is a quirky mix of fantasy, action, and comedy.

It is the early 20th century on a dystopian Greek island. Hadoula , a widow who lost her husband, loannis Fragkos, at a young age, is a woman who has learned how to survive in a male-dominated and extremely patriarchal society. Hadoula carries a difficult burden within her. Like a baton passed on to her from her mother, and the generations before her, she is meant to accept the belittling and degradation of women. Hadoula reacts. Her personal, internal revolution soon comes forth. The victims of her outburst are the little girls of the island, whom she sets free from the social and economic burden that their existence entails by taking their lives. Her actions will bring her face to face with the law. She leaves her home and escapes to her refuge, nature. But as much as her faith and morals dictate that she did the right thing, her transgenerational trauma follows her everywhere. And the end comes as redemption. A story based on Alexandros Papadiamantis' landmark "social novel" of the same name, a staple of Greek literature. Director Eva Nathena’s sensational feature film debut has been a critical success in Greece, and the biggest box-office success there in 2023; and received much acclaim for the powerful performance of Karyofillia Karabeti.

Murderess (Φόνισσα)

2012. Nikos lives in Athens. He is a film director and also teaches film direction at the University of Thessaloniki. Today he will ask his father, Mr. Andrikos, to accompany him to the swearing-in ceremony for his promotion to the higher rank at the University. A father-son train journey, with time running backwards.

The Promotion (Εξέλιξη)

Based on the book by Nikos Kazantzakis. The story takes place in Crete in 1889. The central hero is Captain Michalis, an uncompromising Cretan, whose sacred duty is the liberation of Crete. However, the moment he meets Emine, wife of his blood brother, Nouribeys, he is possessed by a demon. Temptation will not leave him alone and distracts him from his duty.

A failed poet discovers that his mother has marketed him as a local "Pythia", bringing in customers at night to listen to his recitation. First he gets angry but then he decides to take control of the business, leading the whole thing to a total disaster.
