Low Relief for High Water offers a portrait of artist Gabriela Salazar as she creates a sculptural installation for the Climate Museum. The film follows the story of this evocative work, which examines intimate themes of home, caretaking, and vulnerability in the climate crisis. Over the course of a single day, Salazar installs and disassembles her work in Washington Square Park, New York City, distributing fragments into the care of passers-by, who reflect on their emotions and responsibilities in the unfolding global climate emergency.
