The Strait Guys follows Czech-born mining engineer, George, and his fast-talking protégé, Scott, along the proposed route of the InterContinental Railway through Alaska, to the Bering Strait and onward to Russia. The “Strait Guys” endeavor to convince international governments, corporations, and indigenous tribes to green-light their $100 billion railway project—with the promise to become the Panama Canal of the 21st century.

The electrified InterContinental Railway would drastically shorten transport times between Asia and North America, relieve overcrowded ports along the Pacific Rim, connect the continents with fiber-optic cables, power lines and gas pipelines, and provide vital infrastructure for sustainably developing the Arctic, which comprises over 20% of the earth's dry land mass.

But can former adversaries Russia and the United States overcome their mutual distrust and join forces with China, Japan, Korea, the EU and Canada to share the Arctic's natural wealth? Or will the race to secure the planet’s last untapped resources plunge us into an ‘Ice War’?
