Spiralling in a monotonous whirl of new virus variants and lockdowns, Misha and Arnold’s marriage is taking a hit. He is a successful doctor, and she is an author struggling with disillusionment and self-doubt as she attempts to write a meaningful sophomore novel. On a whim, they decide to escape to Arnold’s family cabin with the hope the new scenery will inspire Misha to finish her book. Out there, untethered from “the world”, time seems to blur into obscurity, and Misha continues to grapple with her writer's block. The couple bristle against one another until finally, after a blow-out fight, Arnold heads to town only to have a shotgun pulled on him by a grocery-store Granny. He learns that the pandemic has spiraled out of control and civilization has begun to crumble. A call from Arnold’s Mom confirms the worst…
