I’m a Stranger Here Myself braids together four completely disconnected Los Angeles stories — a couple trying to navigate money, fertility, and the quiet decay of their relationship; an older man found disoriented in the desert; a pizza-delivery driver folding boxes through long night shifts; and a single mom stealing packages off porches. None of these characters know each other, and the film doesn’t pretend they do. Instead, their lives float in and out of each other in the editing — a mosaic of muted moments rather than a puzzle with pieces that actually fit. Technically, this is pure observational slow cinema: long takes, natural light, minimalist acting, and a camera that watches more than it comments. The story is secondary to the experience of drifting through contemporary Los Angeles with people who are strangers not only to each other, but to themselves. - Lucy Hanna, SF IndieFest
