The protagonist, who came to Japan after growing up in a foreign country, is troubled by the "differences" between herself and others. On a short trip encouraged by a friend, she encounters people with various "differences. Through the journey, the protagonist tries to find an opportunity to accept her "differences".

【Director’s Statement】

I have witnessed many conflicts caused by people who were born in different places, look different, have different cultures, speak different languages, walk differently, or think differently. In those cases, there is always an "intolerance" that does not accept variety of "differences”.

Now that I often think of the importance of "tolerance", although I understand that reality is not that simple, I believe that "tolerance" can be the key to resolve disputes.

“Fly, Fry Girl" is a story about modern Japan in where many conflicts are overlooked on a daily basis. I hope that you will meet a new side of Japan through this story and that it brings you a small realization about everyday life.
