Iranian Women Revolt Sidebar

A hospitalized, critically ill physicist, working on a theory about black holes and the end of the world, meets a rather eccentric hospital housekeeper named Titi. Though single, Titi is acting as a surrogate mother for an infertile couple in order to serve humanity and raise money to build a small place of her own. When the physicist falls into a deep coma, Titi, raised by Iranian gypsies and possessing supernatural powers, performs a strange ritual to save him. This is the start of an odyssey that changes their lives forever.

About the Iranian Women Revolt Sidebar

Inspired by the movement Woman, Life, Freedom, which started a few months ago in Iran, Iranian Women Revolt is a film series that showcases the cinema made by and about the Iranian women raised in post-1979 Revolution. This series captures diverse stories of the life of Iranian women who have lived under an oppressed regime for over 40 years. These post revolution young women filmmakers, who are bold, courageous, and intelligent, share the struggles, fights, quarrels, and pains of their characters with us. Thus, they no longer accept the tyranny against women and people of Iran in general. And they rise.

These are stories that shed light on the first ever women revolution that led to Iranian women being called the heroes of the year by the Time’s Magazine, for their courageous fight against oppression.
