The Silver Wave Awards take place on Saturday November 7th at 7:00pm. Join hosts Corena Walby and Ryan "Crash" Barton.

The Annual Silver Wave Awards will recognize excellence in the cinematic arts and significant contribution to the development of the film/video/television community. To be eligible for the Silver Wave Awards, films/videos must have been accepted for screening at the 2020 Silver Wave Film Festival and be in eligible categories. It’s time again to reward New Brunswick filmmakers and filmmakers from away in the following award categories for 2020!

1) Best Student Short (dependent on number of submissions, open to eligible student films)

2) Excellence in Music Composition in a NB Short Film (open to eligible short NB films/videos)

3) Excellence in Art Direction in a NB Short Film (open to eligible short NB films/videos)

4) Excellence in Sound Design in a NB Short Film (open to eligible short NB films/videos)

5) Excellence in Picture Editing in a NB Short Film (open to eligible short NB films/videos)

6) Excellence in Cinematography in a NB Short Film (open to eligible short NB films/videos)

7) Best Experimental OR Animated Short Film (open to eligible short films/videos)

8) Best Documentary Feature (open to eligible documentaries 60 minutes and over)

9) Best Canadian or International Short (open to eligible short Canadian or International shorts outside of NB)

10) Best Documentary Short (open to eligible documentaries under 60 minutes)

11) Lex Gigeroff Excellence in Screenwriting in a NB Short Film (open to eligible short NB films/videos

12) Outstanding Performance by a NB Actress (open to eligible short NB films/videos)

13) Outstanding Performance by a NB Supporting Actress (open to eligible short NB films/videos)

14) Outstanding Performance by a NB Actor (open to eligible short NB films/videos

15) Outstanding Performance by a NB Supporting Actor (open to eligible short NB films/videos)

16) Best Genre Short (non-drama films including comedy) (open to eligible short NB films/videos)

20) Picaroons Brian Carty Film Recognition Award for a person, group, or organization who has contributed significantly to film and video in New Brunswick in a volunteer capacity. ($500.00 cash award)

• $1,000 in cash from New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative

• $5,500 in equipment or facilities from the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative
