Always a Slapstick highlight, the Saffrey Collection this year celebrates its 70th anniversary.
Friend of Slapstick, Tony Saffrey, was four when his father began to collect. In time, along with his siblings, he evolved from being part of a joyous chortling audience of his father's film archive to a dedicated collector himself.
This year Tony brings us rare treasures starring Stan Laurel, the phenomenal Lupino Lane, Roscoe Arbuckle and other great clowns from the classic silent slapstick world.
Presented by film historian David Robinson and piano accompaniment by Maestro Daan van den Hurk.
This program contains films presented as originally created and it may contain outdated cultural depictions.
