January theme: DUMPSTER FIRE. To kick off the 2021 season of Strange Storytelling Hour, we’ll explore a theme known all too well by participants of our 2020 reality. Storytellers will recount experiences that center on how they overcame the hottest of life messes and expelled a smoldering heap of bad from their lives.

Participating storytellers:

Derek Sheen (he/him)

Beloved Seattle comedian who opens for Patton Oswalt and Brian Posehn!

Mx. Pucks A'Plenty (they/them)

Burlesque producer/performer and activist and first time storyteller!

Carina Magyar (she/her)

Austin-based comedian and storyteller, returning from the Isolation show!

Nate Gowdy (he/his)

Photographer who just documented the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol for Rolling Stone!

Something strange is back in this multi-episode live event series presented by North Bend Film Fest and Northwest Film Forum, where emerging storytellers recount peculiar tales and bizarre happenings based on their own real life experiences. Each episode features a strange new theme, challenging storytellers to win over the audience with their storytelling skills.

This virtual event series is be hosted by Seattle-based storyteller, comedian and weirdo Emmett Montgomery — NBC’s Last Comic StandingSeattle Weekly’s Best Comedian 2015, 2017, 2018 and host and curator of the community based “comedy” show Joketellers Union (with Brett Hamil) and the experimental basement/storytelling show The Magic Hat.
