Kim Cannon Arm is not your average grandpa. With killer hand-eye coordination and a mean mullet, he's a legendary fixture at Copenhagen's Bip Bip Bar, and renowned for playing the 80s arcade game Gyruss for 49 hours straight on a single coin. With help from his buddies at the bar, a community of heroic outsiders who support one another no matter what, Kim attempts to obliterate his previous record and play for 100 consecutive hours. It’s like a cross between The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters and The Big Lebowski, and while Mads Hedegaard’s feature debut may have set out to originally capture Kim’s Gyruss attempt (which is indeed a nail-biter), what he uncovers is a delightful exploration of the importance of community through Kim's eccentric gang of gamer friends. Cannon Arm and the Arcade Quest is funny, philosophical and will stay with you long after you’ve watched it.

“Cannon Arm and the Arcade Quest is as stylish as a documentary can be. 80’s graphics and a synth-heavy score complement the arcade aesthetic… Wonderfully cinematic with a beautiful message of teamwork at its centre.” Musanna Ahmed - Film Inquiry
