Bored and bereft of internet access at their grandmother’s house, teens Mia (Nora Merivoo) and Kevin (Harri Merivoo) resort to visiting the local library, where they find a tome outlining a ritual for creating a kratt - a magical creature who will do whatever its master says. Of course, these kind of magical gifts always come at a cost, and it isn’t long before the bodies being to pile up and our unwitting teens, along with their new friends, local twins Juuli (Elise Tekko) and August (Roland Teima) must try to undo their spell before it all gets too out of hand. Estonian director Rasmus Merivoo dips into his country’s rich folklore to bring us a family friendly horror comedy that is sure to please fans of Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson, and their kids.

“A family film that’s bound to make the little ones squeal with excitement.” (Marta Bałaga – Cineuropa”

“Kratt is at once a deadpan horror-comedy and a modern fairytale.” (Cass Clarke, CBR)
