Japanese indie maverick Masashi Yamamoto (Carnival In The Night, Junk Food, Robinson’s Garden) returns with an anarchic and unpredictable absurdist comedy. On the brink of being evicted from their luxury home in the Tokyo suburbs, Akane (Miyu Ogawa) and her family decide to end things with a bang, tweeting out an open invitation to all-comers for one final goodbye party. Akane’s estranged mother (Kaho Minami) soon turns up, followed by a steady stream of strangers—including a gay couple seeking a wedding venue, a cross country cyclist, Taiwanese tourists, and even a ghost or two. As the night goes on, the party becomes an increasingly surreal matsuri (local festival) celebrating life, death, love and second chances that culminates in a drug-fueled funeral, blood-spattered wedding and a coffee bean kaiju battle.

“Wonderful and weird go hand-in-hand in this truly bizarre film that just keeps getting stranger – and that’s just one of the things to love about it.” Richard Gray thereelbits.com

“The ultimate self-aware, midnight movie that doesn't even begin as one, but transcends into one of the wildest acid trips anyone could ever experience on-screen. Overall, it's a must-see for anyone on the lookout for daring cinema.” Jon Mendelsohn - cbr.com)

“Yamamoto makes a film that perfectly matches the punk ethic of his early days: he attacks social constructions - family, social class and Japanese decorum - and leaves behind him a good mayhem!” Stéphanie Cusson, Fantasia
