El Club Campestre, a private club in the wealthy district of Medellín, El Poblado, has been a haven for the elite and high-ranking officials for over 45 years. Its golf course, its lake, its infrastructures make up a world where everything is calm, luxury and pleasure. This is where the filmmaker grew up, daughter of the mayor of Medellín, Guillermo Hincapié Orozco, and sociologist María Teresa Uribe. By returning to the scene today and recounting her childhood in voice-over, she introduces what then remained out of the picture for her: the violence of a world of fire and blood. This voice-over also makes it possible to give depth to the shots, to bring together the past and the present. This dialogue which takes place between image and sound applies as much to the mother-daughter relationship as to the history of violence that the film traces with style and conciseness.
