Director Statement

The film is set in a beautiful tribal village of Jharkhand, still embedded in tribal ethos. It tries to transport the audience into a world where neighbours are well-wishers, animals are friends and the forest is the benefactor. It is also a conflict zone, just outside the red corridor, and this impacts their daily lives in many ways. The film pivots around Munuren and her family who want to send her to a hockey camp being held in the nearby town. This itself is a dream that has come from the outside world.

Can a person from the tribal world dare to dream like a person in the modern world? Are these worlds so distinct? Have influences not permeated from the contemporary world to the tribal world? Do these influences travel one way only? Can we not pick ethos from the Adivasis?

The film, with an engaging plot-line of the struggles, sorrows and triumphs of this family will compel the audience to think beyond.
