Some films require that the subtitles be turned on manually; all closed captions must be turned on manually. Closed captions / manual subtitles will work when watching within most major web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge), on AppleTV, and most tablets and phones. Certain Roku and Amazon Fire devices are not able to be view the closed captions / manual subtitles. Use this video as a test to see whether your device is able to support manual subtitles and closed captions.

Turn on the subtitles/captions by following the on-screen instructions: Unlock this video for free, and then click "Watch Now." Click the gear icon, select "subtitles / closed captions" and then choose "English" (or other languages, if available). If you are not able to see the "gear" icon, or are not able to turn on captions/subtitles from another method on your device -- and you require manual subtitles or captions -- you will need to watch the film on a different device.
