Screening includes: Introductions from Heidi Lee, CEO of Australia's leading renewable energy think tank Beyond Zero Emissions, and Nathan Havey (USA), the filmmaker of Beyond Zero.

Follow pioneering CEO of Interface, Ray Anderson, as he reinvents what it means to run a business. One of the most globally recognised ethical organisations, Interface has become an iconic example of how a business can thrive after reinventing itself as a force for good. Beyond Zero celebrates a life of impact and offers an inspirational roadmap for how businesses can play a leading role in reversing climate change.

In the early ‘90s a customer asked CEO of Interface, Ray Anderson, "What's your company doing for the environment?" When Ray realised he couldn't answer this question, he created a company task force to solve it. As he prepared a speech to give to the task force kick-off meeting, he read Paul Hawken’s “The Ecology of Commerce” and was deeply moved. He described the experience as an epiphany, his “spear in the chest” moment that changed his perspective on business and sustainability forever.

After the life-changing breakthrough, Ray embarked on a high-stakes quest to eliminate all the negative environmental impacts of his organisation by 2020.

To succeed, his business needed to overcome deep skepticism, abandon the status quo, and ignite a new industrial revolution.

Beyond Zero is a hugely hopeful story that follows this world-changing journey and offers an inspirational roadmap for how business can reverse climate change.

AWARDS

Best Story at Boston Film Festival, People's Choice Award for Best Documentary at Denver Film Festival

"Beyond Zero tells a powerful and hugely hopeful story about what it means to build a business around restoring the earth and just why we must reimagine capitalism to heal the world – and ourselves. Don't just see this movie, bring its lessons into your company, and fast."

Rebecca Henderson - Professor, Harvard Business School & Author of Reimagining Capitalism in a World on Fire

“Beyond Zero is a fascinating story, not only about inspirational and visionary founder Ray Anderson, but the struggles and determination of a company trying to become a positive force in the world. The film delivers a message that needs to be told: In the end it indeed boils down to people, and business can be more successful and resilient, simply by doing the right thing.”

Paul Polman - Former CEO, Unilever & Board Member, United Nations Global Compact

“Ray Anderson transformed his company, but more so, he transformed the hearts and minds of tens of thousands of people. He helped all of them, and me, understand the profit and potential in truly embracing sustainability — not as an add-on, but as a way of doing business. This is a must-see film for any business leader who wants her company to survive and thrive in the challenging years ahead.”
