The Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra (LAV) is an orchestra of professional musicians dedicated to the advocacy and support of music education, envisioning a world in which every young person has access to music education.
Founded in 2013 as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization by Maestro Carlo Ponti, the ensemble was formed on the core belief that an orchestra is a unique educational resource.
LAV's mission is to serve as a catalyst in supporting music education through collaborative partnerships with the community, schools, agencies, and other arts organizations, and by allocating 100% of net income from performances to support and develop the study of music.
Carlo Ponti, conductor
Maestro Carlo Ponti is known for taking audiences of all ages on musical journeys of unique interpretive depth.

Students from LAV’s violin instruction program at the Pacoima Elementary School
The Pacoima Elementary School had no existing instrumental instruction program less than two years ago. Since then, it has grown from 15 violin students performing on instruments donated by the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra (LAV) to a thriving instruction violin program co-sponsored by the Johnny Carson Foundation and the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra currently boasting over 100 violin students under the guidance of Ms. Sandra Ortiz, LAV member and principal violin instructor, and Ms. Sylvia Fajardo, the School’s principal.
The classes enable one of the LAV's world-class musicians to lead violin instruction class residencies during which the students are exposed to the benefits of studying music, learning how to play an instrument and receiving musical education, and culminating in performances alongside LAV’s professional musicians at LAV’s season concerts and other events.
