Nine-year-old Anna is a German Jewish girl whose father vanishes in 1933. She and her family are then secretly rushed out of Germany, leaving her beloved stuffed pink rabbit behind. As a refugee she must learn to cope with new customs, new languages and fear.

Author Matthew Kneale will speak about his mother Judith Kerr, whose story is told in When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit. He’ll also share what inspired him to become an author and provide insights into his works.
