When the parents of 10-year-old Gerda and her brother, Otto, are arrested in Norway for resisting the Nazis, the children are left to fend for themselves. Life gets complicated when they discover two Jewish children hidden in the house. It is now up to Gerda and Otto to finish what their parents started: to try to help Sarah and Daniel flee from the Nazis to safety in Sweden. This harrowing account highlights the great courage and fierce and sometimes conflicting loyalties that can be found in even the youngest of children.

Post-Film Program: Sunday, January 9 at 10am via Zoom Meeting

Johanne Helgeland, director of The Crossing, in conversation with Kate Redway, granddaughter of Danish ambassador, Henrik Kauffmann. Moderated by Kelly Ramot, Executive Director of Thanks To Scandinavia (TTS). TTS keeps alive the inspiring stories, many of them little known, of how Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish and Bulgarian people protected thousands of their Jewish neighbors during the Holocaust, often at great personal risk. This post-film program is accessible to ticket holders for The Crossing and The Good Traitor.
