On the cusp of turning 50, New-York based acclaimed Jewish comedian and actor Gad Elmaleh decides to move back to Paris. His parents are ecstatic about their son’s return until they find out the identity of the new woman in his life: the Virgin Mary. Is this a sign of a midlife crisis, or a true calling? Is it even possible to stop being Jewish? And wouldn’t it make more sense for a Sephardi Jew like Elmaleh to convert to Islam? Based on Elmaleh’s own recent catholic conversion, this semi-autobiographical comedy –starring, alongside him, his real-life parents and sister –is a celebration of interfaith harmony, in this case within one’s soul.
