It sheds a light on the subtle way we find ourselves relegated to the sidelines and used as an entertaining afterthought but it is done in a light-hearted, hopeful, joyful way, which is an experience severely lacking in Black art expression. We are more than just struggle, angst and poverty. In my mind this project is a form of afro-futurism. What happens when we are allowed to take control of our own stories on a large scale? This is a light satirical take on the process of self-liberation.
