Dóra Szűcs’ Our Blossom is a tale of forbidden love and unexpected encounters in two different timelines. In the first, set during Vietnam War-era Budapest, we find ourselves in a time where cross-cultural love is forbidden. A young Vietnamese woman named Thiên Nga (Dzhuliya Lam) studying in Budapest falls in love with a Hungarian man, Tidor (András Sütő), at a time when mixed-race relationships in Hungary were a crime. Thiên Nga, after close observation and pressure from a North Vietnamese inspector/minder (Rentsenkhorioo Enkhbold) from North Vietnam, is forced back to her homeland. Homeward bound, she carries an experience and a gift of great importance  Tidor eventually attempts to search for her in Vietnam, in search of love lost.

In present-day Budapest and interwoven with the past storyline, Song Ha (Nari Nguyễn) has to make a choice of her own. She has one love waiting for her back home and another just blossoming with Viktor (Balázs Koltai-Nagy). Can she find the answers she came to Budapest searching for?  And how does she deal with the profound emotions she is only just experiencing? – Jamie Tran
