Army of Lovers in the Holy Land begins thirty years after launching the queer disco-pop band Army of Lovers into international stardom. Frontman Jean-Pierre Barda decides to move from Sweden to Israel, prompting a fascinating thematic recollection of home, identity, family, and the pull of Aliyah, even after the late age of 50. Despite his entire life being in Sweden and even referring to his bandmates as his true family, his Jewish identity pulls him towards change. As some in his life struggle with the paradoxes of Barda's various identities and choices, often striking, philosophical, and religious all at once, Barda's story reveals he has never doubted who he is.
