Howard Porter's move to Sarasota, Florida in the summer of '66 is more than just an escape from trouble. It's the catalyst for a year that will alter his high school and his new town forever. The senior center joins a Booker High basketball team that will regularly score more than 100 points on its quest for a first state title. But the white power structure is determined to use desegregation to shut down the all-black school. It will be up to the students themselves to keep Booker High alive.
