WANDA is delighted to host a discussion with three makers of screen dance. Each speaker brings a different experience and a different approach to creating screen dance. Mary Wycherley is both dancer, choreographer, film director and festival curator her all round experience will help to get an understanding of the field from the perspective of maker and exhibitor. Cara Holmes' background is in film editing and documentary filmmaking, her portrait of Oona Doherty in the highly acclaimed 'Welcome to a Bright White Limbo' offers us an insight into the making of dance documentary. Eileen McClory's practice is based in choreography and live performance, during lockdown and at 39 weeks pregnant she created the work 'Gravidus'. Eileen's experience of delving into the world of moving image as a way to create and display work when theatres and venues are closed offers insight into a path many dancers and performers are now following.
